Dutchman's Breeches blooming, April 2026

“Sometimes I wish I could photosynthesize so that just by being, just by shimmering at the meadow’s edge or floating lazily on a pond, I could be doing the work of the world while standing silent in the sun”.

~ Robin Wall Kimmerer, from her book “Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants”

As I’m sitting here in my cozy home and looking out at a greening world on a chilly, bright April morning, the hurts and havoc elsewhere seem so far away, even as we continue to grapple with the effects of the changes on our planet in the climate and in politics.

What if there was a way that we each could contribute to the wellbeing of the whole living system we’re all a part of, just by being who we are?

I believe that when we take back our personal power to heal the places where we have forgotten our true nature, when we learn to say “no” to the systems and dynamics that extract and abuse, when we become clear that who we authentically are was never the problem, our own healing and remembering becomes part of the interweave of answers that are so deeply needed in these precarious times.

This is the place I’m coming from in my newest album, “Stop, Drop and Feel”, to be released this coming Wednesday, April 22 — otherwise known as Earth Day.

I hope you’ll check it out. Here’s how:

  • Listen Free: Join my Medicine Music Friends Circle on Insight Timer, and I’ll post the link to listen free when it goes live on Earth Day. If you’re not already on Insight Timer and/or don’t know what it is, see below*.
  • Order a digital copy on Bandcamp to listen as soon as it goes live, or a CD which should be arriving within a week or so here.
