So here in Minnesota, Spring suddenly made an appearance after I had literally given up.
And right along with it this new song! I’ve been sitting with at least 5 unfinished recording projects, somehow haven’t felt the juice to get them up and out the door. And suddenly, in the shadow of the solar eclipse that happened Sunday night, this thing just kind of pops in.
I showed it to Michael and he thinks it’s fun and also funny. even though it’s called “gonna go meditate” it makes you want to get up and dance. I guess to me, though, dance meditation is fair game.
it still in progress, a bit left to clean up and re-record . . . and a whole new verse popped in which I will find a way to integrate! but I figured by the timing, it must be just part of the eclipse medicine flow. so here it is!! Let me know how it feels to you.
I’m including all the words as they currently are down below, even the new verse that isn’t in the recording yet. so you can sense where this is going.
The mantra that I’ve woven in to the song is from the Kudalini Yoga tradition, inspired by my Kirtan buddy Davida Singh from Temple Apalala in Portland Oregon.
The words are Ong Namo Gurudev Namo and translate roughly to “I bow to the subtle divine wisdom – I bow to the divine teacher within.” (thank you Snatam Kaur.)
Bless you and may you get the most beneficial transformation and healing out of this incredible energetic threshold we’re all passing through. 🙏❤️

Lyrics:
Here goes:
Gonna go meditate
Gonna get my mind straight
Gonna recalibrate
Coregulate regenerate
Gonna let my love flow
Open to what i need to know
What isn’t mine i let it go
To Give myself the room to grow
I be the one i came to be
Open the door I am free
I give my life to being me
I am the life that’s living me
(B)
Truth is my Identity
There’s nowhere else to go, And no one else to be
The wisdom through infinity
Dances here in me
(C)
Ong Namo Gurudev Namo Gurudev Namo Gurudeva
(B)
Breathe here with me
I am another you, you are another me
Heal the stories of our history
Turn and face the Mystery
(D)
Ong Namo Gurudev Namo
